 Step 1

ASSESSMENT & INSPECTION

Fire can cause structural damage, visible and unseen. The first step in fire and smoke remediation is to make sure the property is safe to enter. Our trained experts assess how far the flames, smoke and water (from firefighters) spread to determine the required cleanup efforts. We then evaluate the contents of your home, like furniture and personal items, to determine what needs to be discarded or what can be packed for cleaning and restoration. Contents are evaluated to decide what requires discarding or packing out for restoration. This thorough inspection provides an understanding of the timeline and estimated cost.

Step 2

STRUCTURAL DEMOLITION & REPAIRS

The goal during this stage is to protect the home from structural damage and prevent further issues to preserve the structural integrity and maintain building code requirements. Our experienced team works quickly to repair load-carrying elements affected by heat and flames. Roof tarps, temporary bracing, and boarding up the structure will be maintained during this stage to prevent any further damage. Following any immediate repairs, Oasis Restoration would begin with the specific removal of building materials such as drywall, insulation, floor coverings, cabinets, and trim to uncover the homes substrates for proper cleaning. 

Step 3

SOOT, SMOKE, & CONTAMINATION REMOVAL

Soot and smoke removal stand as the most intensive aspect of a fire damage restoration job, demanding immense attention to detail. This process often requires extensive manual labor to effectively clean smoke and soot from both interior and exterior surfaces. In many cases, every inch of the affected area must be meticulously cleaned via chem sponges, HEPA vacuums, wet wiping, media blasting, and a variety of other methods specific to your property's needs. If water damage is also involved, our experts go the extra mile by sanitizing the area and applying antimicrobial products to prevent any subsequent microbial growth.

DEODORIZATION

Effective removal of smoke odor is essential in our restoration process. To initiate this, our specialists employ a multifaceted approach. We utilize dehumidifiers to reduce moisture, creating an environment less conducive to odors. Additionally, air purifiers are strategically placed to extract lingering odors and contaminated particulates from the air. Following this, we employ specialized deodorizing methods, ensuring complete elimination of any remaining smoke odors consisting of ozone treatments, charcoal filtration, paint sprayed encapsulation, and hydroxyl ratification. 

Step 5

REPAIRS, RECONSTRUCTION, OR TOTAL RESTORATION

Restoring your home to its pre-loss condition is paramount for your peace of mind. In the case of a fire, parts of the structure may be completely unsalvageable during the initial assessment and must be removed and replaced. This often include rebuilding and replacing the roof, replacing electrical, replacing and painting drywall, replacing flooring materials, replacing cabinets, fixtures, and more.

FINAL INSPECTION & QUALITY ASSURANCE

Up to this point, Oasis Restoration fire specialists will have inspected the home several times, performing a final check of all structural repairs and materials replaced. Depending on the complexity and scope of work, on-site discussions with the insurance company, homeowners, and or invested parties with consistent communication and documentation. In some cases, finishing the project with the approval from an industrial hygienist to validate the cleaning and remediation efforts for air quality. 

After years in the business, Oasis Restoration has obtained the highest certifications for Fire & Smoke Damage in the industry through the IICRC - obtaining it's Master designation. The Master track consists of the following courses all while being certified for a minimum of 3 years:

• OCT - Odor Control Technician
• HST - Health and Safety
• UFT - Upholstery and Fabric Cleaning Technician
• CCT - Carpet Cleaning Technician
